Hymn 459 – On Jordan’s Stormy Banks I Stand

After wandering in the wilderness for forty years, the Israelites finally stood by the banks of river Jordan, ready to enter God’s promised land of Canaan. Today, we are the spiritual Israelites, preparing and waiting to enter the promised Heavenly Kingdom which our Lord Jesus has prepared for us. A place where we can lay down all our troubles and have no more burdens or sorrow. A place to be with our Heavenly Father forever. There is waiting for us a much-desired home.
