The sun goes down, another draws to a close. Time for us to lay down our toil and troubles for the day. We should give thanks for His mercy, grace and love that He has shown to us daily. With our Lord Jesus’ protection and guidance, we will reach that final destination to be with Him forever. The calm, gentle and peaceful melody of the French Horn draws us closer to our Lord Jesus, meditating His constant care and wonderful love in our daily life.
The tenth article of faith of the True Jesus Church: The Lord’s Second Coming will take place on the Last Day when He descends from heaven to judge the world: the righteous will receive eternal life, while the wicked will be eternally condemned. “Jesus will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Mt 24:31). What more fitting than using the trumpet to announce the second coming of our Lord Jesus for this arrangement.
Hallelujah, Praise the Lord! Our anointed sovereign Lord Jesus took the cross for our sins. Shed His precious blood as a ransom to redeem us. Through the baptism of water and Spirit, we have hope for eternal salvation. His wonderful name shall be praised.
Hallelujah, praise the Lord! In the past, I have tried all orchestral instruments but definitely not a harp. Therefore a first for this instrumental series – an arrangement for Celtic Harp and Piano. This melody is well known from the Maori natives in New Zealand. I had a chance to experience the Maori culture while leading a school trip to explore Auckland in 2004. The gentle and calm timbre of the harp duets nicely with the piano, inviting our Lord Jesus to search and cleanse our heart today.
Jesus will walk with us in our faith journey towards His heavenly kingdom. In joy or in sorrow, today and tomorrow, we know that He will walk with us. Jolly light-hearted melody highlighting how easy the journey becomes when our Lord Jesus walks with us.
Hallelujah, Praise the Lord Jesus! Let Jesus Come into Your Heart arranged for flute and piano. Transposed to Bb major instead of original Ab major will make this hymn more accessible to many. This hymn has a light and bouncy feel to it portraying our joy and desire for our Lord Jesus to come and stay in our heart. Therefore we should be humble, open the door of our heart and allow Jesus to help us to begin a new life in Him.
Hallelujah, Praise the Lord! Hymn 89 His Grace Aboundeth More arranged for violin and piano. Life is full of ups and downs, constantly testing our faith towards our Lord Jesus. Yet His abundant grace always surround us. Take my daughter for example:
# her birth was a miracle
# grandparents moved over to look after her in early years
# found good schools for education
# got full bursary so that my wife can devout time to serve the Lord without financial worries
# got into a good university and learn to serve the Lord in local church there
# got a job offer three months before graduation
# got promoted to a permanent post in a short space of time
# got a place for grandparents to move to
plus many more . . . . .
The violin first announces the main theme, follow by telling the wonderful grace of our Lord Jesus, showering His abundant grace upon us all. May all glory, honour and praises be unto His holy name.
Hymn 356 Faith Is the Victory arranged for clarinet and piano. Everyday we face many challenges and temptation in life. Through faith we shall conquer and be victorious. May the Lord Jesus continue to strengthen and renew us. Let us look upon and trust in Him always.
For whoever has been born of God overcomes the world;
and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
[1 John 5:4]
The melody plays by the clarinet brought us hope and assurance that Jesus is with us always. Believing in Him – Faith is the victory we know that overcomes the world. May all glory, honour and praise be unto His holy name.
Praise the Lord! Hymn 56 arranged for Trumpet and Piano. In the Bible, the Year of Jubilee, described in Leviticus 25, was a special year of rest and restoration that occurred every 50 years. It is proclaimed with the blowing of the ram’s horn on the Day of Atonement, the tenth day of the seventh month. The use of trumpet in this arrangement calls us all to return to the Lord. Each verse is like a proclamation of the message and salvation gospel whereas the chorus is like a jubilant dance to celebrate the wonderful grace and love of our Lord Jesus.
Hallelujah, Praise the Lord! An arrangement of hymn 244 O to Be Like Thee for Oboe and piano. This melodious calm and gentle hymn tells of the love, kindness, mercy and compassion of our Lord Jesus. As His followers, we should strive to wear His perfect likeness and manifest this through our daily living.
